How To File
1. Access the FBCAD Website
Navigate to the Website:
Open your web browser and go to the FBCAD homepage.
Locate the "File An Appeal" Section:
On the homepage, find the "File An Appeal" option.
This section allows you to protest your appraised value online, by mail, or in
person.

2. Initiate the Online Protest Process
Click on "File An Appeal":
This will direct you to the Appeals page, which provides various methods to file a protest. FBCAD
Choose "Online Appeal":
Under Option 1, select "File Now" to proceed with the online appeal process. FBCAD+2FBCAD+2FBCAD+2
3. Create an Online Account
On the Login Page:
You'll be prompted to log in. Since you're creating a new account, click on the "Create Account" button. Fort Bend Central Appraisal District
Enter Your Details:
Provide your email address (which will serve as your username) and create a password.
Complete the CAPTCHA verification to confirm you're not a robot.
Submit Your Information:
Click on the "Create Account" button to finalize the account creation.
Verify Your Email:
Check your email inbox for a confirmation message from FBCAD. Follow the instructions provided to verify your account.
Register Your Property
Log In to Your Account:
Return to the Property Owner's Login page and enter your credentials. FBCAD
Associate Your Property:
Click on "Register a passcode to associate it with your Account".FBCAD
Enter the Quick Ref ID and Passcode found on your Notice of Appraised Value.FBCAD
Click "Register" to link your property to your account.
File Your Protest
Start the Appeal:
On the welcome page, click on "File an Appeal"
Complete the Notice of Protest Form:
Fill out the form with the necessary details, ensuring you select all applicable reasons for your protest and provide a detailed explanation.
Submit the Form:
Review your information for accuracy, then click "Submit".
Confirmation:
You should receive a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your protest.
Upload Supporting Documentation
Access Document Management:
Log back into your account and select "Manage Documents".
Upload Relevant Files:
Click on "Upload New Document" and choose the files that support your protest, such as photos, repair estimates, or recent appraisals.
Await Response
Review Process:
FBCAD appraisers will review your submission and may offer a settlement through the online portal.
Further Action:
If an agreement isn't reached, you can schedule a hearing with the Appraisal Review Board (ARB).
